Needed to visit this hospital on our way back from a trip to the states. While the initial wait time was a little longer than I'd have wanted, once I finished intake through triage, the nurses and doctors saw and treated me within minutes, making this the most efficient trip to a hospital I've ever experienced. I am very thankful for this due to the level of pain I was experience.If any of the staff who assisted me on Sunday, January 21st at 9:30pm see this, I would like to sincerely thank you for your incredible assistance.

I received great care from the entire staff (nurses, on call physicians and ultrasound staff). And despite having multiple tests, was through in about 3 hours flat. Made me feel safe and cared for.
Will never go here again. Was verbally attacked by the female security guard today because I wanted to ask the nurse at the nurses station for much longer we'd have to wait for the Dr to come see my 3 year old who needed medical attention. She yelled at me so aggressively nurses came running because they thought I had done something. The doctor and one nurse who had witnessed it all jist stood there and let the security guard verbally attack me and threaten to call the cops on me while my daughter stood there next to me. My daughter was so terrified because of the nurses and guard yelling at me all because I wanted to know the wait time. Completely disgusting behavior on all their parts.
Douglas Memorial Hospital used to be a full-service hospital but is mostly for Urgent Care and Palliative Care as I know it since we moved to Fort Erie in 2015. The Urgent Care service is served by visiting doctors and my husband and I have had good experiences with both doctors and nurses as we sought medical care and advice. I wish it was a full-service hospital again, save the citizens of Fort Erie from traveling the distance to the bigger hospitals.
